What is NHIF ( National Hospital Insurance Fund )
The National Hospital Insurance Fund is a Kenya government state enterprise with a command to give medical coverage to Kenyans. The center business and command for NHIF is to give open, reasonable, affordable, and quality medical coverage for every single Kenyan resident.
How to Pay NHIF insurance via Mpesa In Kenya, 2021
Below steps will help you pay your NHIF account via Mpesa Paybill,
- You will go to Mpesa menu
- Then select lipa na Mpesa
- Select pay bill option, Enter NHIF pay bill 200222
- Then account number enter your National ID number
- You will fill the amount you need to pay
- Last step Input your pin number and confirm the transaction then click send
- You will receive an SMS from Mpesa confirming the transaction
How do you know the total amount you have paid NHIF?
- Step 1 open SMS / message icon in your phone and Compose a new SMS
- Step 2 Type the letters “ID”, space, then followed by your national ID number.
- Step 3 Send the SMS to 21101
When done you will receive a message with member number, your ID number, year of birth, your last contributions, and your dependents.
What do you need to register for NHIF?
So if you still don't have NHIF insurance below are the requirements you need
- Your Copies of National ID(For spouses and dependents if applicable)
- A copy of the employer’s Introductory letter(This excludes those voluntary and self-employed contributors.
- Your Colored Passport photos(For spouses and dependents if applicable)
- You will also need Original and Copies of the birth certificate of the dependents
